Bonnie Markham, Ph.D., Psy.D.

Dr. Bonnie Markham earned her Ph.D. in social psychology from Columbia
University. During her early career she taught at Douglass College-Rutgers
University; did research on early childhood education at New York University;
and program evaluation, research and teaching at the University of Medicine and
Dentistry of New Jersey-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School where she remains on
the adjunct faculty.
Her interest in the interpersonal aspects of medical care led her to return to
graduate school and she attended the Graduate School of Applied and
Professional Psychology-Rutgers University (GSAPP) where she received a Psy.D.
in clinical psychology. Since graduation she has served her school as a
clinical supervisor, president of the alumni association, and co-chair of the
multi-million dollar capital campaign.
For the past 25 years Dr. Markham has been in independent practice in Metuchen,
New Jersey. Her current psychotherapy work is largely with older adolescents
and adults and is focused on helping people cope with life challenges. She also
has specialty training in dissociative disorders and group therapy.
Dr. Markham has always been active in professional and community organizations.
While serving in many leadership roles, her particular interest is in the
financial management of not-for-profit groups. Currently, she is Treasurer of
the American Psychological Association and chairs its Finance Committee; Past
service includes treasurer of the New Jersey Psychological Association and
treasurer of the Divisions of Independent Practice and State, Territorial and
Provincial Psychological Associations of the American Psychological
Association.
