Tom Tobin

After an apprenticeship with a major New York law firm, Tom Tobin spent the next twenty years of his career as inside counsel to Skandia (now Odyssey) America Group, a large reinsurance and insurance group which was the United States operation of Skandia Insurance Company, Ltd. of Stockholm, Sweden. He has extensive experience with the organization and operations of property, casualty and life insurance and reinsurance businesses, excess and surplus lines insurance business and insurance brokerage; the acquisition and sale of such businesses; and the sale of the securities of such businesses, both domestic and foreign.

He completed his AB in history at New York University and law degree at Fordham Law School.

Since 1997, he has worked full time as an umpire and arbitrator mainly in insurance and reinsurance arbitrations, and has participated in over 150 such disputes.

He has been actively involved with The Trust in various roles for more than twenty years.
